Just Get It Going

How many people do you know that are waiting for everything to be just right before they make that big move in their life? I can tell you from experience that the only way you will ever realize true success is to get it going. What do I mean by get it going? I mean exactly that. I have seen more people procrastinate their lives away than I care to mention. Others simply do nothing and talk about all their friends who got lucky. Let me tell you something, there is nothing lucky about success.

I know there are lotto winners and people who were born into wealth and all that stuff. I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the other 99% of people who are successful, the ones who paid the price. They are successful because they were able to make a decision. They took action. They didn't sit by and watch their friends or co-workers take action then say they could have done the same thing, or that so-and-so happened to be at the right place at the right time.

The ability to get it going made the difference. I can think of many times in my life when I was paralyzed by fear. I was afraid of failing, afraid of what people might say. Now I look back at my failures with as much fondness as my successes. The beauty of failing is that it teaches such a valuable lesson.

People who don't take action are the real failures. As I say in all my speeches, life is not a dress rehearsal, you only get one shot. I want you to think about what the worst thing would be if you stepped out in faith and tried your new idea. What is so catastrophic that you couldn't recover from? Your mind is a powerful tool.

It can trigger fear that will leave you sleepless at night. It can tell you that you're not good enough to be a successful person. You have to overcome that crazy thinking because that's exactly what it is - crazy.

I ask this question: Why not you? Why can't you be the person others are saying got lucky? Why can't you be free to do what you want, when you want and with whom you want? There isn't a good reason. You have to stop waiting and wondering and get going. It is much easier to run toward something than run away from it.

Run towards your dream and stop procrastinating. As one of my early mentors used to say "God don't make no junk." It's better to get going rather than wait for the perfect time. Let me fill you in on a little millionaire secret: the timing will never be perfect. Go after your dream Champion.

You'll be the one they talk about when they say "There's another person who was at the right place at the right time, they got lucky.".
